Welcome to Talkaoke – an interactive pop-up talkshow, where you, the participants, set the agenda. We are teaming up with Hoxton Trust, Positive East andEast London Caresto bring Talkaoke back to Hackney! Join us at Hoxton Garden [156 Hoxton Street, N1 6SH] and let’s chat about all things local and global.
The People Speak is an art group based in East London, with 25 year expertise in getting people to understand each other. We use performance art and multi-media to create fun and interactive environments, pushing the boundaries of what a conversation can lead to. We also train people in creative facilitation skills and event production.
How does Talkaoke work?
It’s simple: the Talkaoke host sits in the middle of a round table and you, the participants, sit at small tables close by. Each table has a mic and you are invited to talk about anything they like. Each discussion is a journey from one unexpected subject to another: it can be topical, funny, deep, surreal, and everything in between. The conversation will be visualised live by a digital illustrator! It’s a drop in – so feel free to stay for as long or as little as you can.
