Crowds of people arrived at the Barbican Centre for an exciting day of events, including Talkaoke, to mark the 50th Anniversary of The Duke of Edinburgh Awards, in partnership with Festival of Youth Arts (FYA). In fact it was so exciting and loud that for much of the day Talkoake had to contend with noise from two different stages either side of it, leading to many sound problems and a lack of debate. Finally after some much trying Talkaoke relocated to a quieter position, and this seemed to be the catalyst that was needed for the debate to spark to life.
Here in the final session of the day people gathered around the table to express their opinions and problems in their lives, with society, how they feel restricted in life and the negative view of the youth.
