Creative Project Assistants (Freelance)

Fee: £15 per hour

Hours of work: 20 hours (Sep – Oct 2020)

Must be available on: 27 Sep, 17 Oct

We are looking for two new Creative Project Assistants to help us co-create Wick Speaks! Tour, support outreach and delivery of the project.

Successful applicants will receive training in The People Speak and Hackney Tours methodologies, mentoring and support in pursuing further professional opportunities within the creative industries beyond the project.

You will engage with the members of the local community predominantly from underrepresented groups. You will work with the project team on delivering Talkaoke – a live talk show (27 Sep), carrying out interviews with Participants (28 Sep-16 Oct), and co-creating a Tour of the area through the eyes of its residents (17 Oct). You will be an outgoing person wanting to make a positive contribution to the local community. You will be working from home and various project locations. You will have access to basic technology (smartphone, computer).

Eligibility

The opportunity is open to Freelancers who have lost work due to Covid-19 and live or work in Hackney Wick. We especially encourage BAME applicants.

How to apply
We would like you to fill in a short form and record a short video – roughly 3 minutes – where you introduce yourself and talk about the place in Hackney Wick you think should be included in the Wick Speaks! Tour, and why. Feel free to set your video at that spot. Don’t worry about it being polished – use your phone, keep the concept simple and the audio clear.
