Port Eliot Lit Fest Evening Session Saturday

Port Eliot

As the day wore on, and the alcohol flowed, at Port Eliot’s ‘Literary Festival’ most of the children had disappeared and it was time for the adults to take their seat around the table of chat. The main discussion and concerns of the majority of the cornish folk at the table were the problem of outsiders coming into Cornwall and buying up all the decent housing and destroying Cornwall’s identity and local communities. There was also a discussion on the problems in Iraq and fatal shooting of the unarmed Brazilian in the underground. In the second session Kieron took over in the middle and there was a much more intoxicated discussion on the Cornish way of life.
